Would you kill for a body like Channing Tatum? If you’re like most men, you definitely would. While few would ever admit to looking at his physique when he started in Magic Mike, it’s no secret that he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to hitting the gym.

With 22 Jump Street around the corner, you’ll be seeing him again very shortly.

So how can you build his physique?

Let’s go over what you should know.

When looking at Channing Tatum’s body, we see good overall arm, chest, and shoulder size, with emphasis on the core. He walks around sporting six pack abs, so a big goal of your program should be on cutting fat in order to reveal a ripped midsection.

To do this, you’re going to need to incorporate some interval cardio training, plenty of supersets and drop sets to boost your metabolic rate, and use an upper/lower split so you can focus in on the upper body muscles.

This also allows for sufficient time off for full rest and recovery as well.

Weighted hanging leg raises, weighted decline sit-ups with a twist, or weighted plank holds are all excellent and will help you bring out increased core muscle development, ensuring that you are able to see the fine lines dividing the abdominal muscles. Take your rep range for the core moves up higher to the 15-20 rep range as well so that you’ll get a little extra muscle enhancement to this endurance oriented muscle group.

In addition to that, you’ll also want to add your interval training on the off days from the workouts. Doing 6-10 intervals of 30 seconds in length coupled with 90 seconds of rest will set your metabolism on fire and help you get leaner that much quicker.

You want to be sure you are eating plenty of lean protein with each meal along with some healthy fats such as avocados, fish, nuts and seeds, and oils. Eat complex carbohydrates only around your workouts for optimal energy and then add green leafy vegetables to the other meals in order to keep your total calorie intake down.
